In its main grants program, Yoga Dana Foundation supports organizations that:

    • Provide yoga to groups of people who would otherwise not have access to yoga

    • Are charitable in purpose

    • Are an established 501(c)(3), or are fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3)

    • Have direct impact (bring yoga, as defined above, directly to targeted community)

    • Have a broad purpose and impact (projects have the potential to be modeled/replicated)

    • Are effective (have a history of excellence and credibility in the field)

    • Are sustainable (have other sources of funding and are financially stable)

    • Are located and carry out projects in one of the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area*

In its seed grants program, Yoga Dana Foundation sets aside a percentage of funding to provide small grants to groups that:

Comply with the values of the Foundation and meet the criteria described above, with potential to meet the last two criteria.

Yoga Dana Foundation does not fund the following:


* The nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area are Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, and Sonoma.
